Heidi Mehik

I am a psychiatrist who sees patients for the diagnosis and treatment of depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I also offer help with acute psychiatric problems and perform psychiatric assessments for health certificates. As a psychiatrist, I am part of the alcohol addiction treatment team at the Toompargi Mental Health Center, offering comprehensive and modern treatment. My goal is to help patients achieve lasting recovery and a better quality of life.

I would also like to note that it does not cover the diagnosis and treatment of ATH (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) or other neuropsychiatric spectrum disorders, including autism.

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu in 2000 with a degree in medicine. I completed my residency in psychiatry at Tallinn Regional Hospital and Wismari Hospital, followed by further training in Finland under the supervision of the University of Helsinki at South Karelia Central Hospital. I have participated in the management training program of the Finnish Psychiatric Association and contributed to scientific research. Since 2008, I have worked at the Helsinki University Psychiatric Clinic, where I have held various management positions. Since 2018, I have been head of the Neuromodulation Center at the University of Helsinki Psychiatric Clinic (serving an area of 1.7 million people), which offers ECT, rTMS, and ketamine treatment.

I have participated in numerous international training courses, but I value most the lessons I have learned while working with recognized experts and legends in my field on both sides of the Gulf of Finland. In my work, I combine old-school knowledge of therapeutic psychiatry with the results of modern neuroscientific research.
